Zubin Mehta, one of the most famous conductors in the world, has arrived in Belgrade. Director Ivan Tasovac welcomed Maestro Mehta, who is a great friend of the Belgrade Philharmonic, which he will hold conduct at a gala concert at Kolarac Hall on Saturday, July 10, 2021.

Zubin Mehta and the Belgrade Philharmonic will have five rehearsals during which they will prepare Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Pastoral Symphony” and Symphony No. 1 by Johannes Brahms. Impressed with the quality of the orchestra he has now conducted for the tenth time, Maestro Mehta always likes to emphasize the uniqueness of the Belgrade Philharmonic, in which every musician plays from the heart. It seems that it will be the same this time too, since the very presence of the great conductor is always a special incentive for every musician in our orchestra.

There are only a few orchestras that have had the privilege to work regularly with Zubin Mehta, and the Belgrade Philharmonic is one of them. Saturday’s concert will be a magnificent celebration of a musical friendship that has lasted for 63 years, since the famous maestro had his debut with the Belgrade Philharmonic in 1958, which was one of his first professional engagements.
