Ivana Lazić, principal

Ivana Lazic was born in Belgrade in 1977.

 

She started learning the viola at the School for Music Talents in Cuprija with Prof. Panta Veličković. She continued her musical training at the Novi Sad Academy of Arts, from which she graduated in 2000, in the class of Prof. Laszlo Horvath and Prof. Dušica Polovina. While a student, she was a member of the Camerata Academica orchestra, under the leadership of cellist Istvan Varga. Ivana was also a member of the Simfonietta Orchestra and the Serbian Chamber Orchestra.

 

Between 1997 and 2005, she performed as a solo viola player in the Royal Strings of Saint George Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Sreten Krstic, with whom she went on many tours of Germany, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Austria, Norway and in the countries of the former Yugoslavia. In the period 2000–2012, Ivana worked as Assistant Principal Viola of the RTS Symphony Orchestra. She has also had engagements with the Madlenianum Opera, Terazije Theatre and the Wonder Strings quartet.

 

Ivana has been a member of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra since September 2012, and she has held the position of the Principal Viola from 2015.
