Vera Talerko

Soprano Vera Talerko is a professional opera singer and a chamber music performer.   

 

Vera Talerko comes from Latvia, and she studied vocal performance at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre under the tuition of Professor Asta Kriksciunaite. She has participated in several international forums and festivals: such as European Liedforum (Germany, 2012), European Liedforum (Latvia, Lithuania, 2013), Le Strade d’Europa (Italy, 2015, 2016), Festival Rossini in Wildbad (Germany, 2017), where she had the honor to work alongside industry professionals such as Erik Battaglia, Axel Bauni, Jan Phillip Schulze. She has been successful in many international vocal competitions: Mozart prize at the International Stenhammar Music Competition (Sweden, 2018), International BelCanto prize (Germany, 2017), II place in Paula-Salomon Lindmann Liedwettbewerb (Germany, 2015), III place and a prize for artistry in Yantarnyi Solovei (Russian Federation, 2016).

 

From 2016 to 2019 Vera sang at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and has completed a number of successful roles. From 2016 she works also as a soloist with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra across the Baltic states. From 2019 to 2020 Vera Talerko is performing at the Prague National Opera.

 

Her repertoire nowadays includes some main roles such as Musetta in La Boheme, Marzeline in Fidelio or Berenice in L’occasione fa il ladro, next to short ones like Frasquita in Carmen, Amore in Orfeo ed Euridice Clorinda in La Cenerentola, and others.
