Alexander Sinan Binder

Alexander Sinan Binder has been studying orchestral conducting (MMus) with Prof. Rüdiger Bohn and piano Prof. Paolo Giacometti at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf (Music Academy, Germany) since 2012. At the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Music Academy Zurich, Switzerland) he intensified his studies with Prof. Johannes Schlaefli as part of the Swiss European Mobility Programme in 2016/17. Moreover he took part in conducting masterclasses with David Zinman, Bernard Haitink (passive), Yuri Simonov, Peter Eötvös, Colin Metters, and Peter Gülke.

Beyond his studies Alexander Sinan Binder already appeared with several professional orchestras, among them Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, WDR Funkhausorchester, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Mainz, Staatskapelle Halle, Musikalische Komödie Leipzig, Staatsoperette Dresden, Thüringer Symphoniker, Romanian State Philharmonic Orchestra ‘Dinu Lipatti’, Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria), Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, Bergische Symphoniker, and Duisburger Philharmoniker.

From the upcoming season 2018/19 on Alexander Sinan Binder will be Kapellmeister at the opera house in Lucerne (Switzerland). Currently he is assistant conductor at ‘Volksschauspiele Ötigheim’ in Karlsruhe/ Germany (Chief Conductor: Ulrich Wagner). Before he has been assistant conductor Assistant of Generalmusikdirektor (GMD) Rasmus Baumann at the opera house Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen (Germany, 2017) as well as assistant of GMD Hermann Bäumer at Staatstheater Mainz for the opera production ‘Mathis der Maler‘ (Paul Hindemith) in 2017.

Since 2016 Alexander Sinan Binder has been a scholar of the Dirigentenforum and joined masterclasses with Stefan Klingele, Andreas Schüller and Oliver Weder in the course of the scholarship.
