Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra for youngsters: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Little Stories About a Great Composer

The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra has created an original story about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart titled Little Stories About a Great Composer, designed for children in grades 1-4 of primary school. The concerts will take place from March 18 to 27, on weekdays at 10 AM and 12 PM.

The program is narrated by Belgrade Philharmonic’s musicians Tamara Marinković-Tomić and Slavica Perić, while the orchestra performs under the baton of Vuk Wolkov-Popović, bringing to life some of Mozart’s most beloved works.

Today we are going to tell you a story about a very special boy. Wherever he was – in his room, out on the street, or even sitting at the table eating soup – music was always playing in his head. That boy’s name was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

This is how the Belgrade Philharmonic’s story begins, introducing children to Mozart, the child prodigy whose talent left a lasting mark on humanity. Through an engaging narrative about his life and music, children are guided into his world of love, stars, kings and queens, magicians, and faraway lands.

The experienced duo of Tamara Marinković-Tomić and Slavica Perić, dressed in costumes from Mozart’s era, both entertain and educate young audiences. At the same time, children learn key musical concepts such as what a score, symphony, or serenade is.

Primary school students will also have the chance to hear some of the most beautiful pages in music history performed live by the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, including Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Divertimento, Symphony No. 1, Symphony No. 40, and the overture to the opera Bastien und Bastienne.

Group visits to concerts of the Belgrade Philharmonic are organised through schools, which can still register via email at organizator@bgf.co.rs. Due to high demand for individual visits, an additional performance has been scheduled for Friday, March 27 from 12 PM, with tickets available at the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra’s box office as well as online.
