Ana Kaličanin Radivojević
Ana Kaličanin Radivojević (born in Belgrade, 1990) is one of the most distinguished flutists of her generation. She completed her undergraduate and master’s studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Prof. Ljubiša Jovanović. She earned her postgraduate degree with highest honors at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, studying with Prof. Barbara Gisler-Haase and Prof. Walter Auer, and further refined her skills at the Kunstuniversität in Graz in the class of Prof. Erwin Klambauer.
She is the recipient of numerous awards, including First Prizes at the Anton Eberst Competition (Serbia), Ohrid Pearls (North Macedonia), and Young Virtuoso (Bulgaria), as well as Third Prize at the Intermusica International Wind Competition (Austria). She has also attended masterclasses with world-renowned flutists such as Emmanuel Pahud, Kersten McCall, Felix Renggli, Andrea Lieberknecht, Peter-Lukas Graf, Michael Kofler, Michel Debost, and Philippe Bernold.
Throughout her rich concert career, she has performed with orchestras including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Hofer Symphoniker, RTS Symphony Orchestra, and the German National Youth Orchestra, under the baton of conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Neeme Järvi, Semyon Bychkov, Gustavo Gimeno, Yutaka Sado, Gabriel Feltz, Stanislav Kochanovsky, and many others. She has appeared in prestigious concert halls across Europe and Asia, including the National Centre for the Performing Arts in China and the renowned Suntory Hall in Japan.
In 2023, she performed as a soloist with the Stanislav Binički Artistic Ensemble of the Serbian Ministry of Defence. In 2024, she gave a solo recital and masterclass at the Qingdao Flute Festival in China and served as a jury member at the Finalis International Competition in Białystok, Poland. In February 2026, she was a member of the national jury for selecting Serbia’s representative at the Eurovision Young Musicians competition.
She was a member of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra as Second Flute from 2019 to 2021, and then served as Principal Flute from 2021 to 2024.
Since 2024, Ana has been Principal Flute of the Tonkünstler Orchestra in Vienna and a teaching assistant to Prof. Ljubiša Jovanović at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, within the Woodwind Department.
Further highlighting her active international career as both performer and educator, in October 2025, she was a guest professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, standing in for Vienna Philharmonic principal flutist Prof. Walter Auer.
