The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will mark Serbian Unity, Freedom and National Flag Day on Tuesday, September 15, at 8 p.m. in the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall. Under the baton of Ilija Frolov, the orchestra will perform music by Serbian composers from different generations, reflecting the development of Serbian musical heritage.

The concert will open with Ivan Jevtić’s Festive Overture, followed by Stevan Hristić’s In the Countryside, Milan Ristić’s Suita giocosa, Svetislav Božić’s Sunlit River, and Petar Konjović’s Great Čoček Dance. Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Fantasy on Serbian Themes offers a Russian composer’s perspective on Serbian musical tradition. The programme will conclude with Petar Krstić’s Scherzo and Stevan Hristić’s celebrated Grlica, by the founder of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra.
