Igor Ranković, bass trombone

Orchestra member since 1 September 1996

I take special pride in having played with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra for twenty years.

I am passionate about cars and travelling around the globe, and also a father of three little girls.

Igor Ranković was born in Belgrade, on 16 July 1975. He started playing the trombone when he was ten years old. At the Kornelije Stanković Secondary Music School, he studied with Prof. Rudolf Kocman and Goran Odović, solo trombonist of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. Igor completed his trombone studies at the Belgrade Faculty of Music, in the class of Prof. Vinko Valečić. He was also taught by eminent music teachers such as Per Brevig, David Finlayson and Abbie Conant.

Ranković has appeared as the solo trombonist of the RTS Symphony Orchestra and as bass trombonist in the same orchestra and the orchestra of the Madlenianum Opera and Theatre in Belgrade. In 2013, he actively participated in the Slide Factory Trombone Festival in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He has been a member of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra since 1996, as the second trombone.
