On October 27, 2025, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will share the stage with the world-renowned musical icon Pinchas Zukerman, violinist who will also take the role of the conductor at the Gala Concert at MTS Hall in Belgrade. The celebrated artist will conduct Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 and, together with cellist Amanda Forsyth, perform Brahms’ Double Concerto.
A phenomenon in the world of music, with a career spanning more than five decades, Pinchas Zukerman is one of the most sought-after and versatile musicians of our time. A virtuoso soloist on both violin and viola, Zukerman is equally esteemed as a conductor as well as a chamber musician. Renowned for his warm, resonant tone, infectious musicality, and flawless technique, he has recorded over 100 albums, many of which have been recognized and awarded with Grammy Awards.
With a record number of appearances in concert seasons worldwide, Zukerman regularly performs alongside the finest musicians of our time, including Amanda Forsyth, widely regarded as one of today’s most dynamic cellists. Among the many distinguished artists with whom Zukerman shares long-standing musical friendships is Zubin Mehta, a collaboration that has endured for over fifty years. It is precisely at Mehta’s invitation that Zukerman now makes his debut with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. Although Maestro Mehta was originally scheduled to lead this concert, he was regrettably forced to cancel his European engagements during this period.
I am very excited and really looking forward to performing in Belgrade with the wonderful Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, an ensemble to which Zubin has been devoted for many years. My dear friend Zubin Mehta and I have known and worked together for more than five decades. I would have loved for him to be with us in person, but I eagerly await our next collaboration in the future. Zubin is a truly exceptional musician and friend, and both Amanda and I always cherish every opportunity to make music with him, Zukerman said.
Tickets for the Gala Concert of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra with Pinchas Zukerman and Amanda Forsyth will be available from October 6 at the MTS Hall box office as well as online at mtsdvorana.rs.
