The Belgrade Philharmonic is preparing an exotic program at Kolarac Hall on Friday, December 17 at 8:00 p.m. with Maestro Daniel Raiskin and featuring our special guest star Leticia Moreno. This charismatic violinist will perform the attractive Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by Astor Piazzolla. The evening’s program will also include works by Joaquín Turina, Giya Kancheli, and Sergei Prokofiev.

The Belgrade Philharmonic’s program is an ideal way to warm up in the cold winter, with Leticia Moreno, a Spanish violinist of Peruvian descent. Recognized as a very exciting and versatile artist, Leticia “captivates audiences and critics alike with her natural charisma, virtuosity, and deep interpretive power.” She performs regularly with the most famous conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Paavo Järvi, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and with the world’s leading orchestras. This will be her first performance with the Belgrade Philharmonic, when she will take the audience on a tour of irresistible Buenos Aires through the exotic Seasons by Astor Piazzola, whose name is synonymous with the tango. This performance also marks the centenary of the birth of this famous artist, one of the most authentic composers of the 20th century.

The concert begins lavishly with one of the most famous works by the Spanish composer Joaquín Turina, La Procesión del Rocío, and ends with Prokofiev’s satirical opera The Love for Three Oranges. A special part of the program is dedicated to the domestic premiere of a deeply emotional work called Nu.Mu.Zu by the recently deceased Georgian composer Giya Kancheli, who was a personal friend of Daniel Raiskin, the Belgrade Philharmonic’s permanent guest conductor. Nu.Mu.Zu means “I don’t know” in Sumerian and in this work Kancheli expresses hope for a world without violence. Tickets are on sale from Monday, January 13, at the Belgrade Philharmonic’s box-office as well as online.
