Brenden Patrick Gunnell

American born Brenden Patrick Gunnell is one of the most promising, young, heroic Helden-Tenors of his generation. His career has led him to opera houses all over the world, including the Opera Festival of the Münchner Staatsoper, Oper Köln, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Göteborgs Operan, Birmingham Opera and Beijing Opera House. Further engagements have led him to appear with the Hamburger Symphoniker, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in London, as well as on tour with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra San Francisco. Recent successes have included the title roles in “Peter Grimes” at the Saarbruck State Theatre and in Mozart‘s “Idomeneo” at the Teatro La Fenice, as well as his debut at the Glyndebourne Festival in Mozart’s “Abduction from the Seraglio”. This production was invited to the BBC Proms, Royal Albert Hall and has been released on DVD. As a concert singer, Brenden Patrick Gunnell specialises in the works of Elgar, Beethoven, Britten and Mahler. His main focus in recital music includes cycles of Britten, Mahler and Schubert, as well as the songs of Richard Strauss.
