The creative work of Aleksandar Obradović was heavily influenced by the stylistic legacy of Sergei Prokofiev. Fittingly, the first part of the program pairs Obradović’s Scherzo-overture with Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2, often described as the Everest of his oeuvre (Denis Matsuev).
The soloist is Kazakhstani pianist Alim Beisembayev, Leeds International Piano Competition’s First Prize winner.
The second half of the concert features works by Maurice Ravel and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, both inspired by Spain. The evening is conducted by Julio García Vico, making his debut with the Belgrade Philharmonic.
