The second concert of the season is a tribute to a great philharmonic friendship. One of our brightest stars in the world music sky – violinist Nemanja Radulovic – performs one of the most challenging works in the repertoire for his instrument, Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. The rest of the concert night is reserved for Mahler’s symphonic debut, Symphony No.1, subtitled Titan. It musically illustrates Jean-Paul Richter’s novel, in which the main character aspires to a passionate, noble and heroic life – values with which the composer had largely identified.
