Kornél Pápista, tuba
Orchestra member since 2000
I take special pride in working with my colleagues in the Belgrade Philharmonic brass quintet Brass Sense.
Privately, I am a musician living in Novi Sad, who travels 70 km every day to Belgrade for rehearsals, carrying a large instrument. I am also interested in photography and 3D animation.
Kornel Papista started playing the tuba at the Josip Slavenski Music School in Novi Sad, with Prof. Dubravko Marković. He studied music theory at the Isidor Bajić Secondary Music School, while at the same time continuing his work with Prof. Marković. He completed his graduate and postgraduate tuba studies at the Novi Sad Academy of Arts, in the class of Prof. Branislav Aksin.
Between 2001 and 2003, Kornel worked in the Serbian National Theatre in Novi sad and since 2001, he has been a regular member of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, with which he concluded a permanent work contract in 2007. He has given five concerts as a solo performer and has received many special and first prizes for solo performance, chamber music and orchestral performance. Kornel has had numerous appearances at home and abroad and has recorded several CDs.
