The beginning of the #beethovenontimeline series

The beginning of our #beethovenontimeline concert series will be held at Kolarac Hall on Friday, November 8, at 8:00 p.m. with Maestro Marc Piollet conducting the Belgrade Philharmonic. The concert program features two symphonies: Beethoven’s First and Symphonie fantastique by the French composer Hector Berlioz.

The line of Beethoven’s life contains several key years that changed not only him, but the entire society of the time. Our #beethovenontimeline series of concert programs shows what kind of music people listened to in the year of his birth, how historical events affected the creation of music, how the composer coped with his loss of hearing, and what happened in music shortly after his death.

At the opening concert of our series, the audience, curious to join the Belgrade Philharmonic in “scrolling the line” of Beethoven’s life, will hear his First Symphony, followed by the Symphonie fantastique by H. Berlioz. This work, largely fueled by Beethoven’s musical style, came about after his death in 1827, which marks a turning point in the history of music.

One hundred standing tickets will be on sale at the Kolarac Box Office from 7:00 p.m., one hour before the concert.
