The 2026/27 season marks Case Scaglione’s eighth and final season as Music Director of the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France. During his tenure, Scaglione has led the orchestra in an expansive repertoire spanning Beethoven, Strauss, Wagner, Mahler, Dvořák, Bartók, Ravel, Sibelius, Britten, and Anna Clyne, among many others. A particular milestone was the orchestra’s 50th anniversary season in 2023/24. Highlights of his final season include An American in Paris, featuring works by Glass, Gershwin, and Bernstein, as well as a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 3. 

Scaglione recently concluded a six-year tenure as Chief Conductor of the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, where he appeared regularly at major venues across Germany and Europe, including Stuttgart’s Liederhalle, Kloster Schöntal, Munich’s Prinzregententheater, and Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp. His programming reflected a broad artistic vision, encompassing repertoire from the Classical and early Romantic periods through to the late twentieth century. 

Previously, Scaglione served as Associate Conductor of the New York Philharmonic and Music Director of the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra in Los Angeles. There, he spearheaded significant artistic development and founded the educational outreach initiative 360° Music. 

An increasingly sought-after guest conductor, Scaglione has appeared with leading orchestras throughout Europe, including the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, RTVE Symphony Orchestra in Madrid, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonica di Milano, Komische Oper Berlin Orchestra, and the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra. Recent debut engagements have included the Galicia Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre National Montpellier Occitanie. In the UK and Ireland, he has conducted the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and National Symphony Orchestra Ireland. In North America, Scaglione has enjoyed successful collaborations with the Cincinnati, Utah, San Diego, Houston, Dallas, Detroit, and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras, as well as the New York Philharmonic. Recent return engagements have included the Phoenix and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestras. 

The 2026/27 season brings debut appearances with Malmö Opera, Opéra de Marseille, the Belgrade Philharmonic, the Zagreb Philharmonic, alongside return engagements with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano. 

Opera remains an important part of his artistic activity. In 2025/26 he made his debut with the Royal Swedish Opera, conducting both a production of Rusalka and a recording of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. Following his acclaimed debut at the Opéra National de Paris with Strauss’s Elektra, he returned in 2025/26 to conduct performances of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. 

In Asia, Scaglione has appeared with the China Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, and regularly returns to the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

Scaglione enjoys ongoing collaborations with many of today’s leading soloists, including Simone Lamsma, Yeol Eum Son, Federico Colli, Alisa Weilerstein, Yulianna Avdeeva, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, and Behzod Abduraimov. He has also benefited from mentorship by some of the most distinguished conductors of his generation.
