From Pastry Chef to Clown… or how to turn a hairstyle into a profession 

Kurt Bucher dreamed of becoming a clown from early childhood. After training as a pastry chef and studying social pedagogy, he finally followed his heart: he attended the Basel Theatre and Clown School and began performing as “Jeanloup” in 2015.

Kurt works as a freelance artist and for the Theodora Foundation, where he brings smiles as hospital clown Dr. Wolle in children’s hospitals across Switzerland. International projects have taken him to Brazil, Palestine, Syria, Senegal, Ukraine, and Transnistria.
