
The renowned conductor Zubin Mehta, a great friend of the Belgrade Philharmonic, expressed his condolences on the premature passing of the orchestra’s chief conductor, Gabriel Feltz.
„Gabriel Feltz was a wonderful colleague and musician. I am shocked about his sudden death and send my sincerest condolences to his family. My thoughts are also with his orchestras, especially the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, which he inspired tremendously. We will all miss him very much,” wrote Mehta.
Zubin Mehta also expressed his deep regret that he will not be able to hold the concert with the beloved Belgrade Philharmonic scheduled for October 27, 2025. Due to current inability to undertake long-distance travel, Mehta has decided to cancel a number of performances planned for the upcoming period.
In the wake of this painful loss and the tragic passing of chief conductor Gabriel Feltz, numerous colleagues have reached out to the Belgrade Philharmonic with words of support and sympathy.
