The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra is wrapping up its most beloved concert series — performances for babies — with the final cycle of the season running until Friday, May 9. Concerts take place daily in two time slots, at 11:00 and 12:30, in the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall. Under the baton of Vuk Wolkov-Popović, the orchestra performs Beethoven’s First Symphony, specially adapted for the tiniest audience — from newborn babies to up to two years old.

For seven seasons in a row, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra has been performing new repertoire for babies, ranging from The Lullaby Symphony to The Carnival of the Animals and the most beautiful waltzes. Beethoven’s fresh and youthful symphony has also proven to be a favorite among little ones.

These 30-minute concerts transform the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall into a musical playroom, where babies are free to move, play, and respond to the music in their own way — through laughter, clapping, or dancing.

The baby concerts are by far the Philharmonic’s most popular program. Tickets usually sell out within minutes, and the events have become a regional phenomenon. Families from across the Balkans travel to Belgrade to attend, and the Belgrade Philharmonic has also taken the program on tour — as recently demonstrated with a performance in Bijeljina.

The next round of baby concerts will kick off with the new concert season in September.
