In the second week of March, for the past twenty years, the BPO has been traditionally remembering Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, dedicating a concert to his memory.<\/p>\n<p>The Philharmonic season On the Right Track, musically portraying the capital cities around the world, reaches London on Friday night, with the program that presents the works of three acclaimed composers from the Island &#8211; W. Walton, B. Britten and R. Vaughan Williams. An extremely versatile artist Carolin Widmann will performa as a soloist, playing Benjamin Britten\u2019s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her outstanding career and regular solo performances with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Paris Orchestra, the BBC Radio Symphony Orchestra, the famous Elbephilharmonie and with distinguished conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Ricardo Chailly, Vladimir Jurovsky, Alan Gilbert &#8211; Caroline Widman takes a particular interest in other forms of art. Hence, the famous violinist took part in the performance of Marina Abramovic, performed at choreographed concerts with the dance company Sasha Waltz, played at the football stadium in Frankfurt and designed concert programs to be performed in the Museums of Modern Art in Cologne and Frankfurt.<\/p>\n<p>Carolin will perform for the first time before the Belgrade audience, on the Guadagnini violin from 1782.<\/p>\n<p>The London-inspired program is led by a native Briton and a great friend of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Maestro Howard Griffiths, Member of the Order of the British Empire and decorated with the Order of Merit for his artistic achievements and social commitment.<\/p>\n<p>The concert opens with Walton\u2019s Scapino, a piece that bursts with brilliant sounds and contrasted with the sensitiveness of Britney\u2019s Concerto, as well as London Symphony by Vaughan Williams, conveying to the audience the state of fear in the wake of both world wars.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the concert are on sale at the BPO box office, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/bilet.bgf.rs\/repertoar.php#danas\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, March 17, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will present the renowned violinist Carolin Widmann on a memorable concert under the baton of Howard Griffiths, (Kolarac, 8 p.m.).
