Standing tickets for the Latino Philharmonic concert<\/p>\n
The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra is preparing a sensational evening in Latin rhythms on Friday, March 10, with guest appearance of Pacho Flores, a world superstar on the trumpet (Kolarac Hall, 8 p.m.). Led by maestro Felix Mildenberger, the orchestra will perform Gershwin\u2019s Cuban Overture, Oscher\u2019s Danzas Latinas and Stravinsky\u2019s Firebird.<\/p>\n
Itt is a sold-out event, the BPO is introducing a limited number of standing tickets, on sale one hour before the start of the concert from 7 p.m. at the Kolarac box office.<\/p>\n
The star of the evening is Pacho Flores, one of the world\u2019s most prominent artists on the trumpet, with an impressive biography and rich performing experience and the repertoire from classics to contemporary compositions and jazz. An exclusive artist of the Deutsche Grammophon, he has been honored for his solo performances, recitals and recordings. He was musically trained in the famous orchestral system for youth and children in Venezuela, El Sistema. He is a sought-after name in the most prestigious concert halls such as Salle Pleyel in Paris and Carnegie Hall in New York. As an experienced orchestral musician, he has performed with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Sir Simon Rattle, Seiji Ozawa, Gustavo Dudamel and many others.<\/p>\n
With the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Flores performs Latin Dances (Danzas Latinas), which Effra\u00edn Oscher wrote especially for him. The composition consists of five dances, each of which is performed on different trumpets, to depict the specific color and atmosphere of Latin dances: La Bomba portoricana, Argentine Zamba, Brazilian Samba, Cuban Bembe and Uruguayan Milonga.<\/p>\n
The concert from the philharmonic season On the Right Track, with its exotic repertoire, arrives in Havana, and is opened by Gershwin\u2019s Cuban Overture. When the composer stayed in this city, back in the 1930s, he enjoyed sports, beaches and distinctive hedonism. His fascination with Cuba resulted in an effective and attractive composition that represents the essence of Cuban dance. The musical journey to Havana, under the baton of young Felix Mildenberger, already familiar to the Belgrade audience, is concluded with the Stravinsky\u2019s ballet Firebird, which the composer conducted during his historic visit to Havana in 1946.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
