{"id":75395,"date":"2021-02-23T15:06:27","date_gmt":"2021-02-23T14:06:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/?p=75395"},"modified":"2021-02-24T13:33:24","modified_gmt":"2021-02-24T12:33:24","slug":"no-small-feat-for-great-enjoyment-at-the-belgrade-philharmonic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/en\/no-small-feat-for-great-enjoyment-at-the-belgrade-philharmonic\/","title":{"rendered":"No Small Feat for Great Enjoyment at the Belgrade Philharmonic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After a record number of performances during the First Philharmonic Festival, the Belgrade Philharmonic continues with concerts on February 25, 26, and 27 at 7:00 p.m. The Philharmonic&#8217;s principal horn Nikola \u0106iri\u0107 will have three solo performances with the orchestra and young conductor Valentin Egel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nikola \u0106iri\u0107, one of the Belgrade Philharmonic&#8217;s youngest musicians, will perform no small feat by playing three nights in a row as soloist on this demanding instrument, Mozart&#8217;s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Concerto for Horn and Orchestra No. 2<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a composition full of cheerfulness and humor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8222;This will be no small feat on the horn but it will be a great pleasure. Although I am always excited when I perform as a soloist, it is a special feeling when I play among my own and with my own. I am especially happy because this composition is full of humor; Mozart wrote funny comments on the score itself, teasing his friend to whom he dedicated the concerto. The work contains plenty of musical jokes and even Mozart&#8217;s allusions to the always present slipups on the horn. I hope we will all have fun because it is very important to keep up the cheerfulness,&#8220; hornist Nikola \u0106iri\u0107 said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The concert will be conducted by Valentin Egel, whom the Philharmonic audience knows from the Conductors Forum, a German program for young conductors, which the Belgrade Philharmonic joined as a partner in 2017. The career of the German conductor has continued in the region, and today he is the musical director of the Symphony Orchestra in Rijeka.
