In addition to Elgar\u2019s Violoncello concerto, performed by Daniel M\u00fcller-Schott, the British repertoire will include pieces by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Michael Tippett, before it is thematically rounded off by Haydn\u2019s Symphony No 102, one of his London symphonies.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nIn the \u2018British\u2019 concert, as part of the series <em>For Beginners<\/em>, the audience will hear two fantasies on themes of old composers Thomas Tallis and Arcangelo Corelli, both written by British artists of different periods and stylistic expressions: Ralph Vaughan Williams and Michael Tippett. The repertoire then makes a witty retrospection with the Tenth of Joseph Haydn\u2019s twelve London symphonies, created during his stay in London, which is regarded as the most prolific and contented period of his professional and personal life.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u201cI am truly delighted to lead the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra in the presentation of British music, with the idea to demonstrate all its idiosyncrasies. These include its connection with the past, pastoralism, poeticism and, indeed, pure humour, which we will hear in Haydn\u2019s classicism\u201d, said Jane Glover, whose conducting career has lasted more than four decades. Her last appearance with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra was two years ago, as part of the concert series <em>On High Heels<\/em>, dedicated to female conductors.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nOne of the most popular violoncello concertos of all times, composed by the great romanticist Edward Elgar, will be played by Daniel M\u00fcller-Schott, known worldwide for his energetic interpretations. The guest appearance of this virtuosic cellist, who is a regular guest in the world\u2019s most prestigious venues, is organised in cooperation with the Goethe Institute.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe concert series <em>For Beginners<\/em> is conceived for \u2018novices\u2019 in the world of classical music, as well as for experienced concertgoers who feel the beginners\u2019 excitement for music masterpieces over and over again.
