Ksenija Milo\u0161evi\u0107 will perform Hristic&#8217;s <em>Symphonic Fantasy.<\/em> The program also includes works by Sibelius, Schumann, and Berio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ksenija Milo\u0161evi\u0107 has been a member\nof the Belgrade Philharmonic for over 20 years. From a well-known musical\nfamily whose careers have been associated with the Belgrade Philharmonic, she\nhas been playing the violin since she was four years old and has been active in\nnumerous areas of music. With the support of her colleagues, she will play the <em>Symphonic Fantasy<\/em> by Serbian composer\nStevan Hristi\u0107, one of the founders and first conductor of the Belgrade\nPhilharmonic who has made a huge contribution to the development of Serbian\nmusic in the first half of the 20th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Young conductor Gregor Mayrhofer is\na unique figure on the world&#8217;s music scene. This conductor, composer, and\npianist is currently assistant conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic and has\nstudied at the Juilliard School under renowned American conductor Alan Gilbert,\nformer head of the New York Philharmonic. His oeuvre as a composer is\nparticularly marked by a commitment to ecology, and Mayrhofer&#8217;s works include\nthe <em>Insect<\/em> <em>Concerto <\/em>for classical orchestra and a choir of crickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He will be conducting the Belgrade\nPhilharmonic for the first time, performing a very diverse repertoire. The\nconcert opens with the <em>Valse triste<\/em> by\nJan Sibelius.
