Gabriel Feltz, chief conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic, will hold three concerts this week. First, as pianist and host of our Musical Talks on Wednesday, May 22, and then as conductor at two concerts of the Belgrade Philharmonic at Kolarac Hall, on Thursday and Friday (May 23 and 24).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At our Musical Talks, informal matin\u00e9e concerts beginning at 2:00 p.m., Conductor Feltz will present Nemanja Stankovi\u0107, cellist in the Belgrade Philharmonic. As a pianist, Feltz will join Stankovi\u0107 in performing Beethoven’s Sonata for Cello and Piano<\/em>and talk about the composer to whom the Belgrade Philharmonic is dedicating its entire 2019-2020 season. As always, admission to these concerts is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our audience will have the opportunity to hear one of the most interesting programs of this season, held on two days, Thursday and Friday, at Kolarac Hall, at 8:00 p.m. The lush and magnificent works of Ottorino Respighi will take you on a unique musical journey, first with his composition Church Windows<\/em> and then – all philharmonic roads lead to Rome! Devotees of the Eternal City will enjoy his symphonic poem\u00a0Roman Festivals<\/em> and the vivid descriptions of Roman scenes, from the time of the ancient empire in its full splendor, to the dance of „saltarello“ on Navona Square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Between these two orchestral giants shines a bright pearl – Bach’s most famous Concerto, No. 1, for Harpsichord and String Orchestra in D minor<\/em>, which nowadays is most frequently played on the piano – on this occasion by our guest, French classical pianist\u00a0\u00c9ric Le Sage, with his unique and subtle expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tickets are still available for Thursday’s concert at the Kolarac Box Office.
