{"id":19189,"date":"2018-06-06T08:15:23","date_gmt":"2018-06-06T07:15:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/?p=19189\/"},"modified":"2018-06-06T08:50:18","modified_gmt":"2018-06-06T07:50:18","slug":"ekskluzivan-program-beogradske-filharmonije","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/en\/ekskluzivan-program-beogradske-filharmonije\/","title":{"rendered":"Belgrade Philharmonic&#8217;s Exclusive Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Belgrade Philharmonic and renowned conductor Eiji Oue are performing an unusual program two concert nights in a row, at the Kolarac Concert Hall, on Thursday and Friday, (7 and 8 June) at 8:00 p.m. Our audience will be able to hear the <em>Requiem for Strings<\/em> by Toru Takemitsu, <em>Frozen in Time<\/em> by Avner Dorman, with virtuoso percussionist Simone Rubino, and finally, <em>The Planets<\/em>, by Gustav Holst, featuring orchestra and choir.<\/p>\n<p>The eccentric Eiji Oue, a conductor with a colorful career spanning 40 years, performs internationally with the world&#8217;s leading orchestras. In addition to his superlative artistic work, this erstwhile prot\u00e9g\u00e9 of Leonard Bernstein is also famous for his association with superstars of popular culture. For the past four seasons he has been guest conductor with the Belgrade Philharmonic and this time they will be presenting some of the world&#8217;s most significant composers that are found off the beaten path of classical music.<\/p>\n<p>This attractive program opens with the <em>Requiem for Strings<\/em> by Toru Takemitsu, one of the most influential Japanese composers of the 20th century. Then, for the first time, our public will hear the percussion concerto <em>Frozen in Time<\/em> by Israeli composer Avner Dorman, featuring Simone Rubino, a percussionist famous not only for his incredible virtuosity, but also for his dance choreography while playing. Finally, <em>The Planets<\/em>, an orchestral suite by Gustav Holst, will reveal to us the sound of Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.
