Directed by conductor David Levi, the soloists at the concert will include violinist Anna Tifu, an Italian star of the younger generation, tenor Michael Schade, a permanent member of the Wiener Staatsoper and a regular guest at the world\u00b4s most renowned opera houses such as the Metropolitan Opera and the Munich Opera, and soprano Fatma Said, the young Egyptian classical music star and recipient of the scholarship from Teatro alla Scala.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe New Year\u2019s concert programme will include popular numbers from operettas and musicals by Lehar, Strauss, Herbert and Rodgers, an attractive violin performance of pieces by Sarasate and Monti, while a special place in the programme is also given to the Balkan Symphonic Dance No 2 by Konstantin Blagojevi\u0107, a Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra violist.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u201cI am delighted to have met the fantastic Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, with which I gave two New Year\u2019s concerts for the Belgrade audience, conducting a programme that was completely new to me. In Oman, we will introduce ourselves with a different repertoire that I have conducted many times before. I look forward to celebrating the New Year with these various performances and the orchestra with which I am utterly fascinated\u201d, said conductor David Levi.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe orchestra will perform at the glamorous Royal Opera House Muscat, the construction of which was ordered by Sultan Qaboos bin Said, a great classical music admirer. The venue features state of the art technology and perfect acoustics.
