{"id":17839,"date":"2017-12-22T10:11:30","date_gmt":"2017-12-22T09:11:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/?p=17839\/"},"modified":"2017-12-22T13:08:14","modified_gmt":"2017-12-22T12:08:14","slug":"dreams-come-true-belgrade-philharmonic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/en\/dreams-come-true-belgrade-philharmonic\/","title":{"rendered":"Dreams Come True at the Belgrade Philharmonic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The greatest hornist of all time reunites with his former student<\/em><\/p>\n<p>One of the best hornists of all time, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/en\/solista_cp\/radovan-vlatkovic\/\">Radovan Vlatkovi\u0107<\/a> will share the stage with his former student <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/en\/orkestar_cp\/nikola-ciric\/\">Nikola \u0106iri\u0107<\/a>, the principal hornist of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/en\/repertoar_cp\/air-2\/\">on Friday, 22 December<\/a> (Kolarac, 8pm). Under the baton of Chief Conductor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/en\/dirigent_cp\/gabriel-feltz\/\">Gabriel Feltz<\/a>, Vlatkovi\u0107 will play Mozart\u2019s Horn Concerto, followed by the emotional musical reunion of the \u201cwizard and his disciple\u201d in Rosetti\u2019s Concerto for Two Horns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo play with Radovan Vlatkovi\u0107 as a soloist with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, ten years after the times when I used to practice horn performance at the music school in Ni\u0161, dreaming of the day when my horn would sound at least remotely as perfect as the horn of my idol, seems like the greatest dream come true. The knowledge that I received from this horn wizard while I was his student at the prestigious Salzburg Mozarteum means to me much more than just a reference in my CV. I look forward with impatience to playing that beautiful velvet sound of the French horn together with him for the Belgrade audience\u201d, said Nikola \u0106iri\u0107, first hornist and one of the youngest members of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>A testimony to Radovan Vlatkovi\u0107\u2019s impressive career is also the Honorary Membership of the Royal Academy of Music in London, an honour bestowed upon only 300 distinguished musicians worldwide. He has appeared together with the world\u2019s most distinguished artists, including Martha Argerich, Mitsuko Uchida and Emmanuel Pahud, and his recordings are included among the best performances of all time.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Conductor Gabriel Feltz will wrap up the repertoire with a musical giant \u2013 the final and unfinished Symphony No 9 by Anton Bruckner.
