The program features works by Arvo P\u00e4rt, Benjamin Britten, and Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The concert opens with \u201cCantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten\u201d by Estonian composer Arvo P\u00e4rt, written as an elegy in memory of Benjamin Britten, whose music P\u00e4rt deeply admired. The piece is a striking example of P\u00e4rt\u2019s innovative tintinnabuli technique, inspired by the mysticism of early Christian chant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The centerpiece of the evening is Britten\u2019s Piano Concerto, performed by the Belgrade Philharmonic for the first time. Although brilliant and virtuosic, the concerto is rarely heard in the standard piano repertoire. Steven Osborne, awarded the Order of the British Empire for his services to music, is celebrated for his distinctive interpretations and wide-ranging repertoire. He has appeared in some of the world\u2019s most prestigious venues, including the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Berlin Philharmonie, and others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program concludes with one of the most beloved symphonic works, Symphony No. 8 by Czech composer Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k.
