The program features masterpieces by Britten, Bart\u00f3k, and Stravinsky.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three majestic composers, Benjamin Britten, B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k, and Igor Stravinsky, each reshaped twentieth-century music in their own distinct way. Britten\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, dedicated to his teacher, evoke a range of historical idioms through a neoclassical lens. Bart\u00f3k\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Violin Concerto No.1<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, on the other hand, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">takes on an unusual sweetness, even sensuality, when played with the fluidity and serenity that Christian Tetzlaff brings to it<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Classics Today<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is precisely this interpretation by one of today\u2019s most sought-after violinists that the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra\u2019s audience will have the privilege of hearing on Friday. Christian Tetzlaff is considered one of the most compelling musicians on the international classical scene. His concerts often become profound experiences, revealing familiar masterpieces in an entirely new light. Alongside his astounding virtuosity, Tetzlaff is particularly admired for the powerful personal imprint he leaves on every performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The concert on Friday night is led by Hossein Pishkar, a young Iranian conductor well known to the Belgrade Philharmonic\u2019s audience. His name already appears frequently on some of the world\u2019s most prestigious stages, including Hamburg\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elbphilharmonie<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as well as Paris and Cologne Philharmonics. Under his direction, the program concludes with Stravinsky\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Symphony in Three Movements<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a powerful synthesis of the composer\u2019s rhythmic brilliance cast in classical form with a distinctly modernist edge.
