On February 2 (Kolarac, 8:00 PM), one the repertoire is the mastery of soloists local talents, Belgrade Philharmonic\u2019s own members Miroslav Pavlovic, Ksenija Milosevic, and Mirjana Neskovic. The orchestra\u2019s great friend, cellist Maja Bogdanovic, will perform the Serbian premiere of the composition, cello concerto <em>Dance<\/em> by Anna Clyne.<\/p>\n<p>With deepest regret over the recent passing of Zoran Eric, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra pays tribute to the great composer by performing his composition <em>Six Scenes &#8211; Commentaries.<\/em> The thematic materials that build this work originate from Eric\u2019s <em>oeuvre<\/em> in theater music composed for productions such as <em>Antigone in New York<\/em>, <em>Banovic Strahinja<\/em>, C<em>arolina N<\/em><em>euber<\/em>, and <em>Der Process<\/em> (Kafka\u2019s <em>The Trial<\/em>). This piece marked a significant chapter in the orchestra\u2019s recent history, being part of the repertoire during its first tour in Sweden in 2006. Nearly twenty years later, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra pays homage to those times, featuring soloists from the orchestra \u2013 Miroslav Pavlovic, Ksenija Milosevic, and Mirjana Neskovic.<\/p>\n<p>Maja Bogdanovic, an internationally acclaimed cellist, reunites with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra\u00a0 once more, for yet another premiere in its centennial season. This time, she performs the <em>Concerto for Cello and Orchestra<\/em> by British composer Anna Clyne, a young and highly authentic artist with numerous nominations and awards. Clyne\u2019s works are often choreographed for dance, commissioned by prestigious artistic institutions worldwide, including the Barbican, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Paris Philharmonic, MoMA museum, Royal <em>Concertgebouw<\/em> Orchestra, San Francisco Ballet, and Sydney Opera. Recognized as a <em>fearless composer with unique talents<\/em>, Clyne has been named among the top ten most performed living composers globally and the most performed British composer, with her composition <em>Dance<\/em> having over 8 million streams on Spotify.<\/p>\n<p>The concert concludes with one of the favorite pieces in the repertoire, <em>Ein Heldenleben<\/em> (<em>A Hero\u2019s Life<\/em>) by Richard Strauss.
