The program features works by Serbia\u2019s very own Marko Nikodijevi\u0107, and will be completed with masterpieces of Sergei Prokofiev and Dmitri Shostakovich.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Known for his exceptionally sensitive and technically brilliant musicianship, Alexei Volodin is a frequent guest of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. His name regularly graces the most famous music venues such as the Vienna <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Konzerthaus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Palau de la M\u00fasica<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Barcelona, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mariinsky<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Theatre, Paris Philharmonic, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alte Oper<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Frankfurt, and Zurich <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tonhalle<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Renowned for his diverse repertoire, Volodin will perform Sergei Prokofiev\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Concerto No. 3<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, one of the most popular works of the 20th century, with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra on Friday night concert.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The concert opens with the Serbian premiere of a composition by a world-acclaimed Serbian composer Marko Nikodijevi\u0107, who has garnered special attention for his work on the project <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seven Deaths of Maria Callas <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with Marina Abramovi\u0107. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parting of the Waters into Heaven and Seas<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\/ The Second Day. Toccata per Orchestra<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> explores the biblical story of the second day of the world\u2019s creation. The piece was commissioned by the foundation and orchestra <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MusicAeterna<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which first premiered with the renowned Teodor Currentzis at the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elbphilharmonie<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Hamburg in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the baton of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra\u2019s permanent guest conductor Daniel Raiskin, the concert culminates with the performance of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Symphony No. 6 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dmitri Shostakovich, a piece that the Belgrade Philharmonic fondly recalls from its 2006 Swedish tour, when the piece was frequent on the Orchestra\u2019s repertoire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Friday concert is already a sold-out event, however, standing tickets will be available for purchase one hour before the concert, from 7:00 PM, at the Kolarac Box Office<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, April 26, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra is once again performing with the renowned pianist Alexei Volodin, under the baton of Daniel Raiskin.
