{"id":106951,"date":"2024-01-22T10:08:53","date_gmt":"2024-01-22T09:08:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/?p=106951"},"modified":"2024-01-26T13:24:54","modified_gmt":"2024-01-26T12:24:54","slug":"in-memoriam-zoran-eric-1950-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bgf.rs\/en\/in-memoriam-zoran-eric-1950-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"In Memoriam: Zoran Eri\u0107 (1950-2024)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We have lost a dear friend and colleague Zoran Eric, one of the most significant Serbian contemporary composers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our first collaboration with this talented artist dates back to 1975 when the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra successfully performed his first orchestral piece, the choreographic picture for the orchestra <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyond the Gates of the Sun<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This composition was part of our performances at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival and during a tour in Germany the following year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra has continued to promote Eric\u2019s compositions, including the performance of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cartoon<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Moscow back in 1995 and the notable presentation of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Six Scenes of Commentary<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for three violins and orchestra during a seven-concert tour in Sweden n 2006.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zoran Eric served as a resident composer during the 2003-2004 season, and in the 2016-2017 season, the Belgrade Philharmonic commissioned a piece titled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">List No. 2<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the jubilee season of our orchestra, nearly two decades after the Swedish tour, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra will once again perform <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Six Scenes of Commentary<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to be featured on February 2, 2024. The soloists will be three distinguished violinists from our orchestra &#8211; Miroslav Pavlovic, Ksenija Milosevic, and Mirjana Neskovic.
