The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra is again in the hands of the Chief Conductor Gabriel Feltz, appearing together with the cello superstar Giovanni Sollima, on 9\u201310 February (Kolarac, 8pm)<\/a>. The concert in the series For Adventurers <\/em>follows an inspiration by folklore, seen from the vantage point of three composers with different stylistic preferences, nationalities and generations.

\nThe philharmonic adventurers, with their keen appetite for programmes that involve the most innovations, will hear the Serbian premiere of the Folktales<\/em>, performed by its composer Giovanni Sollima. The acclaimed cellist will tell his tales<\/em> inspired by the Mediterranean folklore, yet treated in a completely contemporary way, with his instrument. One of the most authentic artists of the contemporary music scene, Sollima has shared the stage with stars such as Martha Argerich, Riccardo Muti, Yuri Bashmet, as well as artists such as Bob Wilson, Alessandro Baricco and Patti Smith.

\n\u201cI am delighted about how my composition sounds with Gabriel Feltz and the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. We are having lots of fun while working, so I am very impatient for us to tell the Folktales <\/em>to the Belgrade audience\u201d, said Sollima ahead of the two concerts at Kolarac.

\nThe programme for adventurers opens with the Concert Overture <\/em>by Polish composer Szymanowski, and closes with excerpts from Smetana\u2019s well-known piece My Fatherland<\/em>, as a symbolic announcement of the collaboration with Gabriel Feltz, the new Chief Conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra as of season 2017\/18.
