The barcode visual refers to the Belgrade Philharmonic\u2019s product that has its added value \u2013 experience! It signifies distinctiveness, authenticity and individuality of each of the 25 concerts in the season.<\/p>\n<p>The programmatic course taken in the season 2016\/2017 is a balance between the pieces in the standard concert repertoire juxtaposed with contemporary trends. Every individual concert addresses a specific topic and matches the message conveyed by the entire concert series \u2013 <em>For Lovers<\/em>, <em>For Beginners<\/em>, <em>For Connoisseurs<\/em>, <em>For Adventurers<\/em> and <em>For Megalomaniacs<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The series <em>For Lovers <\/em>tells some of the most beautiful love stories about Romeo and Juliet, Daphnis and Chloe, Cinderella and Carmen. <em>Beginners <\/em>will sneak into the realm of symphony music to hear capital works of Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart and Shostakovich. After the monumental pieces that dominated the last season, this year\u2019s <em>Megalomaniacs<\/em> will enjoy works played by extended number of soloists on the stage: four horns, two pianos, brass and woodwind ensembles and a piano trio. The series <em>For Connoisseurs <\/em>includes true delicacies for experienced concertgoers: the grand symphonies by Bruckner and Mahler, as well as Serbian premiere performances. Finally, the series dedicated to <em>musical adventurers<\/em> will, as usual, introduce the most innovations \u2013 music inspired by historic and contemporary superheroes William Tell and Superman, and the never before played violin concerto by Serbian composer and former Belgrade Philharmonic Concertmaster Petar Stojanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n<p>The Philharmonic barcode is also indicative of the five completely new products that will enrich Serbian music \u2013 five premieres commissioned by the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra from domestic composers, striving to contribute to the development of contemporary Serbian music. Serbian composers of various generations and stylistic genres are writing five compositions on specific topics of the five concert series. Thus, the concert series will be opened by pieces of Aleksandra Vrebalov (<em>For Lovers<\/em>), Anja Djordjevi\u0107 (<em>For Adventurers<\/em>), Vuk Kulenovi\u0107 (<em>For Megalomaniacs<\/em>), Zoran Eri\u0107 (<em>For Connoisseurs<\/em>) and Dra\u0161ko Ad\u017ei\u0107 (<em>For Beginners<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, we will maintain high quality levels of the visiting artists. Once again, you will be able to enjoy performances of well-known guest conductors, who have already established themselves as both orchestra\u2019s and audience\u2019s favourites: Michail Jurowski, Daniel Raiskin, Fabrice Bollon, Gabriel Feltz, Howard Griffiths, Eiji Oue, Uro\u0161 Lajovic and Vladimir Kulenovi\u0107, as well as a few new names, most notably Zolt\u00e1n Kocsis and John Axelrod. We will also have the return performance of the controversial pianist Fazil Say, while the international stars also include the cellist Giovanni Sollima. In addition to violin virtuosos of the younger and middle generations Akiko Suwanai, Kol\u0458a Blacher and Itamar Zorman, our audience will hear for the first time one of the world\u2019s best hornists Stefan Dohr, as well as young cellists Andrei Ioni\u021b\u0103 and Alexander Ramm \u2013 winners of the International Tchaikovsky Competition 2015, but also some of the classical music legends \u2013 cellist Natalia Gutman and pianist Stefan Kova\u010devi\u0107. Moreover, our orchestra will traditionally play with some of the most remarkable domestic soloists, including mezzo-soprano Milijana Nikoli\u0107 and the piano <em>LP duo<\/em>, as well as the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra musicians: Mirjana Ne\u0161kovi\u0107, Boris Brezovac, Bojan Pe\u0161i\u0107, Mihailo Samoran, Nikola \u0106iri\u0107 and Sava Djuri\u0107.<\/p>\n<p>The lines of our barcode are also taking you to the digital world, where you can find the philharmonic concert season before actually experiencing it.
