Simone Schröder

Simone Schröder studied at the Music Academy „Hans Eisler“ in Berlin with Prof. Irmgard Hartmann-Dressler. She is prize winner of the Franciso Viñas Competition and the International Mozart Competition in Salzbourg.

 

In 1996 the artist made her debut at the German State Opera Unter den Linden in Berlin as Page in Salome under the baton of Daniel Barenboim. Since then she has a close relationship to this house where she sang a.o. Suzuki/MADAMA BUTTERFLY, Mrs. Quickly/FALSTAFF, Emilia/OTELLO, Marcellina/LE NOZZE DI FIGARO as well as 3rd Dame /DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE and Larina/EUGEN ONEGIN.

 

Since 1996 the artist is regularly invited to the Bayreuth Festival. Among others she appeared from 2002 to 2004 as Erda in DAS RHEINGOLD and SIEGFRIED; Grimgerde/DIE WALKÜRE as well as 1st Norn/GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG under the baton of Ádám Fischer. In Ring production conducted by Christian Thielemann she sang Floßhilde, Schwertleite and 1st Norn. Under Kirill Petrenko, Marek Janowski und Plàcido Domingo she sang Grimgerde and Waltraute in DIE WALKÜRE.

 

Since 2014 Simone Schröder is regularly invited to the Semperoper Dresden for Wigelis in Strauss’ FEUERSNOT, 3rd Magd/ELEKTRA, Dryade/ARIADNE AUF NAXOS and several roles in the RING under Christian Thielemann.

 

Furthermor the artist sang at the Bavarian Radio Orchestra, the New National Theatre in Tokyo, the Teatro Colón the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, the Washington Opera, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the BBC Proms, the  Salzburg festival as well as in Singapore and Denmark.

 

Apart from her opera career Simone Schröder is a well know concert singer with a broad repertoire from the Passions of Bach, to Verdi Requiem and the repertoire of the 20th century. The artist is documented on a large variety of CD’s and DVD’s.
