Evgenija Jeremić

Soprano Evgenija Jeremić was born in Kragujevac, in 1991. After receiving musical education at the Dr Miloje Milojević Music School, she went on to study solo singing at the Belgrade Faculty of Music, with Violeta Pančetović-Radaković, where she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree. She has won many national and international competitions, most notably three first prizes at the 2014 Elena Nikolai International Competition for Young Opera Singers in Bulgaria, the first prize at the 2013 International Jeunesses Musicales Competition in Belgrade and other. She was a member of the Opera Studio of the National Theatre in Belgrade, where she appeared in the opera Sister Angelica. In the Belgrade Faculty of Music’s Opera Studio, Evgenija sang the role of Stanka in Stanislav Binički’s opera Na uranku (At Dawn) in 2014 and the role of Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, in 2015. She has received awards from the Danica Mastilović Fund and the Biserka Cvejic Fund. In December 2015, the Belgrade Faculty of Music honoured her as the best student of her generation.
 
Evgenija has given many concerts and recitals in Belgrade, Kragujevac, Niš, Zrenjanin and Kruševac, and has appeared with the Orchestra of the Belgrade Faculty of Music, the Niš Philharmonic Orchestra and the Borislav Pašćan Youth Philharmonic. Highlights in 2015 include her solo engagements in pieces by Poulenc and Beethoven, with the RTS Symphony Orchestra and Choir in Belgrade, as well as at the Days of Mokranjac Festival in Negotin. A few days ago, she made her debut in the role of Sister Angelica in the eponymous opera, at the Plovdiv Opera in Bulgaria.
