A new generation of young musicians is offered the chance to practice shoulder to shoulder with experienced BPO members at the Belgrade Philharmonic’s Second Orchestral Academy – The Philcademy, in the period 20 November – 1 December 2017.

In the first week, the Philcademy trainees will start by learning from their mentors – BPO musicians, who will teach them the finesses of orchestral performance. Afterwards, they will prepare the final concert together, conducted by Daniel Raiskin, scheduled on 1 December at the Grand Hall of the Ilija M. Kolarac Foundation (8pm).

In the auditions held in June this year, the best 48 students and graduates from the music academies in Serbia and the region were selected for the Philcademy, where they will be given the opportunity to pursue further professional training and acquire experience in orchestral performance.

In the final concert, led by the BPO Principal Guest Conductor Daniel Raiskin, the Philcademy trainees will join the Belgrade Philharmonic musicians for the performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No 1 and Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra.
